Rolling Wheel Rattle
May 20, 2020

I am delighted to announce that we have a new addition to our toy range. This one is special as we really wanted to offer something for infants for a long time and finally this rolling wheel rattle is on board, which is made for babies 3 months and above.

There were a lot of designs going in the mind and after various considerations we decided to go ahead with this Montessori product as it served most purposes and fit to fulfill our commitment of offering open-ended toys for all ages with heirloom quality.

Today I am writing this guide about our new rolling wheel rattle. It will help little ones acquire all the essential skills as babies start learning from the minute they are born. They learn how to cry, talk, crawl, and walk. By taking in the sights and sounds of the world around them, they are able to develop physically and cognitively. Most of the learning that your little one will do will be from play and exploration.

There are a few essential skills that your infant needs to learn with regards to cognitive development. We outline them below:-

Tracking

This skill helps infant develop focus on object in their field of vision but Babies need to develop this skill.

A rattle is a great tool to develop tracking. While infant play with toy and may lose interest, we can rattle the toy and noise will stimulate baby to track it again. Start by showing your baby the Rattle and playing in front of their face, slowly move the rattle away and see how far your child can follow the toy with their eyes.

Rattle is designed to include bright colors and contrasting patterns so that, the toy will attract your infant’s attention for longer.

 Cause and Effect

The next skill your infant will need to master is cause and effect. They usually start to discover this concept around the age of four month, often through play. They will discover by accident when they shake a rattle, it will make a noise. At this stage their memories are beginning to hold more information. They will soon realize the connection between the rattle and the noise and experiment with how to make the noise again.

We often see them banging rattle against the table or dropping toys onto the floor. This is just their way of experimenting and learning what the effect will be. Encourage your little one to shake, bang and explore toys to aid cognitive development

Object permanence

At around 8 months, your little one will begin to understand this concept. Object permanence is the understanding that an object still exist even when it is out of sight. Think of this one as hide-and-seek or peek-a-boo game which gives them awareness of things exists even when child cannot see. Play with your little one’s toy in front of them and hide it. Now encourage your little one to find it. Hide the toy away from their vision and shake it to give your child a clue. Gradually they should be able to find hidden objects even if you did not show them the location.

Movement

One of the most thrilling achievements of a child is learning to move himself through space to get to desired object. We can help the child in their valuable work by not interrupting him as he tries and by offering a toy that roll away at a slow pace, is interesting to look at, touch, feel and listen to. Rolling rattle is large enough to roll at Optimum pace and will move just out of his reach providing an incentive for movement.

Sit and support your baby upright on the floor and move a ball or toy in front of her, this encourages your baby to follow the toy with her eyes, reach for it and grasp it.

Baby also learns to hold the rattle in one hand then transfer the toy into another hand.

Rolling Wheel Rattle is not just a source of entertainment for a baby to play with; but it will help teach babies many new skills, Babies learn to visually track or coordinate their eyes together to watch a moving toy, they will hold their rattles tightly with a strong grasp reflex and their fine motor skills develop, they will learn to hold and shake their rattle in the air.

Hope this information helps you in choosing the first toy for your little one.
